-4 card

I have a marble that has gone 4 spaces from its start hole. I use the -4 card to return to my start hole. Can I then with my next card go straight into my home area?

Yes, you can. Anytime you pass the startfield for the second time (except of the tac/undo)

I also think I read in another thread that it was legal to reverse into your home board with the -4 card. Is this true?

Yes, that's true.
Any direction, any Card.
You just have to pass the startfield twice.
